M. Anthony “Tony” Reimer

M. Anthony “Tony” Reimer (audience interaction designer) has enjoyed an active freelance career in theatrical sound design spanning over two decades. Tony has also served as a sound designer, composer, engineer and developer on many films, art installations, video games and interactive experiences. Currently, Tony teaches sound design in the Dept. of Theater at the University of Illinois and has previously taught courses in computer music and video game design. He is also a researcher at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications where he uses his expertise in many different technologies to contribute to collaborative efforts between scientists and artists including projects focused on: aiding the collaborative development of multi-user virtual worlds; audience interaction technology using mobile devices; gesture recognition using motion capture technology; and support tools for telematic performances.
